Cymdeithas y Penrhyn

Cymdeithas y Penrhyn is a Welsh-language cultural society established in 1987. Between September and February monthly meetings are held at 7.30 p.m. in Horeb vestry, usually on the third Wednesday of the month.

Horeb Welsh Baptist Chapel, Penrhyn-coch

Horeb Welsh Baptist Chapel was founded in 1788. Having around 100 members, the chapel benefited from a decision made in 1986 to welcome as members people who were formerly members of other denominations. Services are usually held at 2.30 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month and at 10.30 a.m. on the second (usually a family service) and the fourth (and fifth) Sunday. Madog Chapel

Madog Chapel is one of the Presbyterian churches of Wales. At present the chapel has 26 members. The chapel forms part of the pastorate of Garn Chapel Bow Street, and the present minister is the Revd Wyn Rh. Morris. A service is held every Sunday at 2 p.m.

Merched y Wawr Penrhyn-coch

Volunteer committee set up to maintain the park and tennis courts in Penrhyn-coch. Meetings are held every 2nd Wednesday of every other month from September onwards at 7.30pm at the Village Hall with clear ups through the summer months. Volunteers needed - please come and help to keep the park.

Pen-bont Rhydybeddau Play Area

A safe place for all the community children to play. The play/community area consists of a football pitch, tarmac cycle track, climbing frame, slide, swings and a roundabout.

Penrhyn-coch Retired Group

We meet: on the first Wednesday of the month from September to June at St John's Church Hall 2.30-4.30 pm. We pay £1 a meeting which includes the raffle and a cup of tea and biscuits.
Activities include: speakers on a variety of topics (mostly suggested by members), slides, videos, an annual Christmas lunch, a Welsh Tea in March and a visit in one of the warmer months.

Salem Coedgruffydd Welsh Congregational Church [For sale 2015]

The first chapel was built in 1824; it was rebuilt in 1850 and extended in 1864.To reach the chapel follow the road through Penrhyn-coch towards Penbont-rhyd-y-beddau and take the first turning to the left after Horeb Chapel. Siloa Chapel, Cwmerfyn

Siloa was established in 1866 as a branch of the Congregational Church of Salem Coedgruffydd as one of the churches founded in north Ceredigion by Azariah Shadrach. Siloa has 21 members. A monthly service, beginning at 2 p.m., is held at Siloa between the beginning of March and the end of October. The officers of the chapel are Dafydd Elwyn Jones (secretary), Dilys Jones (treasurer) and Margaret Mason Pollack (organist).

St John's Church

St John's has been a place of Christian worship since 1881. The services are according to the rites of the Church in Wales and a warm welcome is extended to all new residents, visitors and children.

Trefeurig Nursery Group

The Nursery Group provides education and development for children under 4 through the medium of Welsh. Open Monday-Friday, 9.05am to 12pm in the Caban, adjacent to the school.

Trefeurig Show

Trefeurig Show has been running successfully for the last 11 years and is held on the 1st Saturday in September at Trefeurig School.

Ysgol Trefeurig Development Group [NO LONGER EXISTS]

The Ysgol Trefeurig Development group are working to try to keep our local primary school as a meeting place for the community. The school was closed down in the summer of 2006 and is the only building in the village of Pen-bont Rhydybeddau where meetings can be held. It is in danger of being sold off by the Local Education Authority. We presently have the use of the building and are encouraging its use by holding various activity sessions there. [FOR SALE 2015]
