Cambrian News: 10 Ionawr 1919
'The circumstances of the death in action of Pte Evan Arthur Morgan, Machine Gun Guards, son of Mrs Morgan, Tanberth have been received from the Sergeant of his section. On the night of August 23rd while advancing over an open piece of ground, which was under heavy fire the party got into a shell hole, and while there, a shell landed amongst them killing Morgan and the other men. The sergeant adds: 'With a party of men I got to the place when the battle was over and found his grave. He is one of nine men buried in the same grave. We got to work, and did the grave up in the best way possible. I also got a regimental cross with their names inscribed thereon, and fixed it to the grave. The place where he is buried is by the side of the road a few hundred yards from Judas Farm, near St. Ledges'.

Mr and Mrs Evan Morgan, Gellifach, have heard from their son, Gunner Evan David Morgan R.F.A., who is on the peace march into Germany. He has been engaged in severe fighting in France, was gassed, and received slight injuries from shell fire.
